The Chosen

Question: Who are the few that are chosen (referencing Matthew 2:14)?

The context is the Wedding Feast Parable.   In this case many people had attended; but, as said only a few were chosen!  Those not chosen had not got the special wedding garment, which identified them as special in the sense of “the King”!!

In the case of “King Jesus”, in the Wedding feast of Rev.19:6–7; the ref. to the “wife” is that of Israel (which is made clear in the Old Testament); and they are those that in the Tribulation of Jacob, “washed their robes in the Blood of the Lamb”!  There is the possibility also that all who come to Christ Jesus prior to Acts 28–28 are also included in this category; but as yet uncertain!

In the case of Rev. 7:13–14:

V.13 And one of the elders asked, saying unto me, (a)"Who are these that are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they"?

V.14 And I said unto him, "my Lord, thou knowest".  And he said to me, (a)"These are they who came out of The Great Tribulation, (b)and washed their robes, and made them white by the blood of the Lamb".

The above are three different cases, but each case shows the need for qualifying garments.  The ones without the garment are rejected, potentially as “gate crashers”!

There are many such examples in the New Testament, and each one needs examination and prayerful study to arrive at the answer!
